Off-Campus Housing Issues? ResLife’s Got You Covered!
Many students decide to move off-campus as early as their sophomore year. This can be a huge change for some students, and making that transition is not always simple. I’m sure we’ve all heard some horror stories about landlords among other things. Well, fear not! Assistant Dean of Students, Juli
e Paige, who works with the Off-Campus Housing Office (OCHO) is here to help. Peep the message from Julie below:
I really wanted to respond to you about the difficulties students are having with health, sanitation and safety in their apartments and feeling they have no places to go. That is one of our purposes in the Off Campus Housing Office. We have a lot of resources for students having these difficulties and want them to call us and make appointments to come in. So please pass on this information. Please note we provide resources and referrals, but we do not intervene between landlord and student.
I just started in this position in August – I came from Residential Programs. One of my goals is to make sure students are more aware of our services. I would welcome your ideas if you would like to get together.
Just let you know – our Newsletters have been put on hold this semester. We will begin them again in January and make sure we get the important information out to our students.
In the meantime, here is a link to our website and specific links for students having problems.
