Earlier this month, Akwe:kon (pronounced ah-GWAY-ghon) celebrated its 20th Anniversary. The house was built in 1991 as a way to serve Native American students at Cornell and to allow non-Native students to live in an interactive, inter-cultural space. Akwe:kon is part of the Mohawk language and translates to mean “all of us.”

The Student Assembly Appropriations Committee met for the second time this academic year to begin the byline funding process. The Appropriations Committee meets to review and discuss funding packets with the leadership of the relevant organizations, after which the committee makes a decision on each organizations funding which is confirmed at the next SA meeting.
